Located in the Midoun tourist area, not far from the Taguermess lighthouse, Djerba Explore is home to the largest crocodile farm in the Mediterranean, with 400 residents of all kinds, including Nile crocodiles from Madagascar, in pools shaded by palm and banana trees. The history of Djerba Explorer

Inaugurated in 2002, this tourist site is also home to the Lalla Hadria Museum, where visitors can admire masterpieces from 13 centuries of Muslim art and history, from Persia to Andalusia, in a thousand pieces ranging from miniatures to arabesques and ceramics. In one of the museum's 15 rooms, you can admire the parchment of the Koran from Kairouan, fragments of the hanging from the Kaaba in Mecca, pottery, jewellery, carpets and Tunisian costumes...

Why visit Djerba Explorer?

Djerba Explore isn't just about crocodiles! Djerba Héritage invites you to step back in time in a traditional Menzel and learn about the customs and trades of Djerba: weavers, potters, basket-makers, olive oil producers... There's even a camel that fetches water from the well! And let's not forget the souks surrounding a charming square, ideal for a mint tea on the terrace. A cultural and fun visit for all the family.
