Jumping on an Airbag in Les 2 Alpes

Imagine the thrill you'll feel when your buoy rises into the air to land on an Airbag. You'll get your adrenaline pumping as you leap into the void in total safety, landing on a huge air mattress that gently cushions any fall. If you want to share the experience, or if you're scared to death of going it alone, you can descend in a tandem buoy. You can try your hand at some acrobatic tricks, or slide down the slope with your back to the slope if you're feeling daring, but one thing's for sure: you're going to have a great time on this activity, which is now a must-do in both summer and winter in Les 2 Alpes.

How does the Big Airbag work?

The Big Airbag is a huge inflatable mattress several metres wide, several metres long and several metres thick, so you can do jumps on a donut sled (a kind of buoy), on a ski, on a snowboard, on a mountain bike, on a BMX bike, on a skateboard or even without anything at all, just in freefall, and all in total safety. So you can try out all your tricks without getting hurt. Invented by a Dutch team in 2004, this large mattress, usually used by stuntmen, is becoming increasingly popular and can be found in many French ski resorts, including Les 2 Alpes.

Who is this activity for?

This activity is for anyone who dares to take to the skies, including children aged 5 and over in summer and 7 and over in winter.

How does the activity work?

At Les 2 Alpes, you can not only ski down the slopes, but also ride a giant donut-shaped buoy.

So there's no need to ski if you want to try out this new activity!

Here's how it works:

  • First of all, you'll have to decide whether you want to go alone or in pairs, it's up to you.
  • Then you'll have to climb to the top of the ramp.
  • Of course, you'll have to sit on the doughnut-shaped buoy and hold on to the handles.
  • And launch yourself up the ramp. You are free to close your eyes, to shout (be careful, your co-pilot may have an earache).
  • The descent is rapid and you land on the big Airbag mattress.
  • And all you'll want to do is climb back up for a second ride.

Where can you go for an Airbag descent in Les 2 Alpes?

Just head to the Airbag Park in the centre of the resort for this activity.

A snack break after the jump?

Jumping in an Airbag can be exhausting, especially in the mountains! For a sweet break at the foot of the slopes, head to Tom's Canteen, which will serve you a delicious hot chocolate accompanied by a crêpe of your choice (have you got any batter? Do you have sugar? Doesn't it remind you of a famous scene from Les Bronzés font du ski?)

The terrace is sunny for most of the day and is right in the heart of the resort. No more sun? No problem, you can enjoy your waffle in the warmth of the braziers.

In the evening, Tom's Cantine is a well-known restaurant in Les Deux Alpes, serving traditional mountain cuisine (fondue, raclette, etc.), as well as foie gras, magret and burgers. Something for all palates, young and old alike.

⭐Where to stay nearby?

Renting a flat in Les 2 Alpes is easy and practical, and you can even find some nice ones right next to the ski slopes. It's obviously more practical with young children, so you can do everything on foot.
