5 ideas for snowshoeing adventures in Méribel

Snowshoeing in Méribel is a real adventure you'll remember for a long time. With friends, family, a couple or even on your own, you'll be able to get away from it all in an exceptional setting, whether in the Vanoise Park or the Tueda nature reserve, both of which are close to the Méribel 3 Vallées resort. You can go snowshoeing for a day or half-day, at beginner or advanced levels. All you need to do is hire and equip your own snowshoes, download the snowshoe and footpath map and off you go for a walk in the great outdoors. But if you want to combine two activities, there are plenty of microadventures on offer in Méribel. What about trying out Qi Gong, tasting a chocolate fondue, tracking down the animals that live in the mountains and discovering how they live in an igloo, or joining an igloo at night to eat a Savoyard fondue?

Is snowshoeing suitable for everyone?

By staying on snowshoe trails or footpaths, snowshoeing is a sport accessible to all those who can walk, young and old alike. Snowshoes adapt to the natural movements of walking. On the other hand, if you want to venture off-piste, or with a greater difference in altitude, going out on snowshoes can be very cardio intensive and can become much more difficult if you are not trained. What's more, we strongly advise you not to venture off-piste on your own. If you hire a guide, it's best to tell him or her about your fitness level.

Snowshoeing and Qi Gong in Méribel

If you want to relax both body and mind, a snowshoeing and Qi Gong outing is the perfect way to discover Méribel this winter.

Don't know what Qi Gong is? But you've probably already seen groups of people doing movements in parks. They are practising this sport, which comes from traditional Chinese medicine and helps to restore spiritual, physical and mental balance so that you can stay as healthy as possible for as long as possible. Qi Gong works on the body's energies.
