Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park
Loch Lomond is the smallest lake in the National Park north of Glasgow. In autumn, the lake's blue water contrasts with the warm tones of the vegetation, creating a magnificent panorama. You can hire canoes or relax on the shore and enjoy a spot of fishing.
Westonbirt National Arboretum
Near Tetbury, 40 minutes from Bristol, lies the UK's most famous arboretum, the Westonbirt Arboretum. It is home to no fewer than 15,000 trees. Needless to say, the colours of this park in autumn are fantastic!
Richmond Park
Not far from London lies Richmond Park, the natural habitat of many specimens of deer. October is the month when the males start competing with each other to find a female. They collide with their thick horns. It's an impressive sight! The best time to admire these animals is early in the morning, when nature is still shrouded in a mysterious fog.
Padley Gorge in the Peak District
Autumn is truly magical at Padley Gorge, in England's Central Park between Manchester and Sheffield. Here you can admire not only the brown leaves, but also the streams that flow through the heart of the park.
Dartmoor National Park
A walk through the granite hills and rocks of Dartmoor National Park will take you back in time to the days of the Celts and the Druids. There aren't many trees in the area, but the red and orange hues of the sunset over this green desert are spectacular.
