Once you've visited Carvoeiro, it's a good idea to set off on an excursion to see the many caves in the region. The most famous of these is the Benagil cave. You can explore it in just 1 hour. There are several departure points for this must-see tour, including Carvoeiro beach. And that's just as well, isn't it 🙂 On the way from Carvoeiro beach to the Benagil cave, you'll see a number of little coves hidden between the cliffs, other lesser-known caves and the pretty red-and-white Alfanzina lighthouse. And who knows, maybe you'll come across a few dolphins...?

There are also several walks around Carvoeiro:

  • The first, and easiest, is a walk along the coast, via wooden footbridges. This allows you to admire the beauty of the coastal scenery without the slightest difficulty.

  • Another walk not to be missed is the "Percurso dos Sete Vales Suspensos". The level of difficulty is a little higher than the previous walk, but it is still largely accessible to the widest possible audience. As for the route, it is much longer, taking a full day to complete. Along the way, you'll pass some of the Algarve's must-see places, including the Benagil cave and the Praia da Marinha and Praia do Carvalho beaches.
