Tasting the riches of the sea in Deauville

Deauville's markets

There's nothing quite like shopping at a market, in search of the bounty of the region. Deauville is lucky enough to have two: the Marché de Deauville is held every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday morning. It takes place in the half-timbered market halls on Place Morny. All you have to do is choose between cheese, vegetables and seafood, and don't miss the organic market on Thursday mornings.

Or why not try your hand at kayaking?

This original solution is available at the port of Trouville-sur-Mer. You can take to the open sea and try your hand at fishing in the English Channel! The waters of the Channel are rich and teeming with excellent fish. Concept Sport Emotion is based on the beach at Trouville-sur-Mer. For a savoury lunchtime break, there's nothing like the fish and seafood restaurant L'Étoile des Mers! When it comes to fresh produce, you can't do better. In fact, this restaurant is also a fishmonger's! Choose from the fish of the day or treat yourself to a seafood platter! Open from Thursday to Sunday, lunchtime specials during the week offer great value for money.

Every year at the end of October, Villers-sur-Mer celebrates a special delicacy. It's scallop season! For two days, the festival focuses entirely on seafood. The aim is to offer you the very best products, all in a lively atmosphere (concerts, parades). Zoom in on the market: you'll discover a profusion of scallops and shellfish from the region. What's more, prices are reasonable and the quality and freshness of the produce are unbeatable! To top it all off, you'll be treated to culinary demonstrations by the Académie Nationale de Cuisine and the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (Best Craftsmen in France). Last but not least, you'll find an on-site market selling wines, local produce and gastronomic delights.
