Porticcio is a small town south of Ajaccio, in the commune of Grosseto-Prugna. Once sparsely populated, the town gained in seasonal visitors and notoriety when it became Ajaccio's seaside resort. Just 30 minutes from the centre of Napoleon's city and 17 minutes from the airport, Porticcio is "the place to be" for locals and tourists alike. Porticcio's main beach is huge. To the south, there are facilities for your comfort, while to the north, the beach is much wilder and quieter. For travellers who want to be calm and slightly removed from the crowds, smaller beaches even further south are much more peaceful, and just as beautiful. If we had to name just one, don't miss the Silver Beach.
