The history of Lez market

Created in 2016, the Lez market took shape in a former farmhouse that was used as an agricultural and industrial warehouse as well as a printing workshop. The Lez Market has become an essential part of Montpellier's lifestyle, and its decor reflects its history. The industrial architecture gives an authentic feel to the place, which has been home to many memories before creating new ones for the Montpellier public, who love to stroll around this arty spot.

The covered market and the Lez garden

Two food courts have been set up in the Lez market. In all, around forty restaurateurs have set up their kitchens and food trucks in the Halles and the Jardin du Lez. Fancy a French, Italian, Lebanese or West Indian dish? You'll be spoilt for choice! A special mention for Jean Le Croquant, who has reinvented the traditional croque-monsieur with some delicious variations. There's also the aptly-named Italian restaurant, La Vita Al dente, whose traditional cuisine based on fresh pasta and creamy burrata makes you want to get away from it all!

Shopping in the market's boutiques

It's all about salvaging, from vintage clothes to second-hand goods and flowers! You're bound to find the nugget you're looking for at the Lez market. As you stroll around, you'll be able to pick out old furniture, decorative items and adult and children's clothing. At the flea market, you'll also find pieces by artisans such as Atelier Watripoint, with its vintage lighting and decorative items, and Reboul & Charles, with its pottery, ceramics and rugs. On the thrift side, Absolute Vintage offers clearance items from brand names, as well as upcycling.
