A stroll through the Medina

Destroyed by an earthquake in 1960, Agadir's Medina has been rebuilt and is located just a few kilometres from the city centre. As a spectacular site, it's essential to visit this masterpiece when you're in the city. The Medina perfectly respects the ancestral architecture of the Souss-Massa region. Its Italian origins can be traced back to Coco Polizzi, whose project to build the Medina began in the early 1990s.

This infrastructure is ideally suited to the age-old art of stonework developed in the Anti Atlas and Atlas mountains. It's not its 4.5 hectare site that impresses, but its architecture, inspired by ancient Moroccan buildings. It is a detailed reproduction of the old town of Agadir before it was destroyed in 1960. In the heart of the narrow streets, sheltered from the sun, you'll find a magnificent setting that makes a great introduction to your stay.
