The quays of the port and the streets of the town centre are lined with old houses. These shipowners ' residences with their elaborate balconies date back to the seventeenth and seventeenth centuries.
Some of the half-timbered houses are listed and thus protected from the appetite of property developers, who are very voracious on the Guérande peninsula...
The port remains dynamic, and its main speciality is pink shrimp, the "bouquet du Croisic", making it France's leading port for this fishery. The town still has its own fish auction.
In the heart of Le Croisic, you'll find Mont Lénigo and Mont Esprit, artificial hillocks built from the ballast of ships, offering great views over the town and the marshes.
Near the port, don't miss the Tréhic jetty. At 858 metres long, it plunges into the Atlantic Ocean.
