A walk around the port of Le Croisic

The quays of the port and the streets of the town centre are lined with old houses. These shipowners ' residences with their elaborate balconies date back to the seventeenth and seventeenth centuries.

Some of the half-timbered houses are listed and thus protected from the appetite of property developers, who are very voracious on the Guérande peninsula...

The port remains dynamic, and its main speciality is pink shrimp, the "bouquet du Croisic", making it France's leading port for this fishery. The town still has its own fish auction.

In the heart of Le Croisic, you'll find Mont Lénigo and Mont Esprit, artificial hillocks built from the ballast of ships, offering great views over the town and the marshes.

Near the port, don't miss the Tréhic jetty. At 858 metres long, it plunges into the Atlantic Ocean.

Discover the Océarium du Croisic

Here's an attraction for all the family! The aquarium is a must-see on any visit to Le Croisic!

The unusual architecture of the Océarium hides the underwater treasures of the Atlantic Ocean and other seas around the world. From the riches of South Africa and its shores where the famous Cape penguins frolic (watch them feed several times a day).

Another highlight of the Océarium is the Australian sharks! These sharks live in a huge aquarium, which is a real thrill!

In fact, you'll be diving into the heart of the Atlantic, the Pacific, the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean!

In all, over 4,000 specimens are on display in vast, magnificently laid-out spaces!

What's more, the Océarium is committed to protecting the marine environment, with a programme dedicated to saving species and supporting associations.

Admission charge, free for children under 3.

After your visit to the Océarium, don't hesitate to take a seat in one of Le Croisic's many restaurants. With its fresh, high-quality produce, this is the place to indulge in seafood cuisine.

Among the addresses in the port of Le Croisic, the restaurant Le Lenigo stands out. The sea is everywhere, from the restaurant's decor to your plate! The restaurant closes in winter.
