La Baule Jazz Festival

For several weeks in summer, La Baule offers its residents and visitors a host of concerts and events.

Whether you like jazz, soul or blues, you'll be spoilt for choice!

Concerts take place at various venues around the seaside resort.

The amphitheatre in the Parc des Dryades is the most famous. The setting is superb, right in the heart of the city. The amphitheatre can accommodate up to 1,500 spectators.

The La Baule Jazz Festival has been running for over 20 years and is constantly renewing its programme. Some evenings are dedicated to the greatest names in American music (Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Elvis Presley).

It's the perfect place to listen to music on a fine summer's evening!

Quite simply, this is one of the world's greatest equestrian competitions!

The most famous show jumping competitors meet up every year in La Baule.

For over 60 years, the Jumping International de La Baule, home of the prestigious CSIO5 Official French Show Jumping Competition, has been held in the seaside resort.

The competition takes place every year in May or June. It lasts 4 days and takes place at the Stade Equestre François André.

The Stade François André hosts a number of equestrian competitions, including the most famous, the JUMPING 5* International Show Jumping Competition.

Followed by millions of television viewers around the world, the FEI Nations Cup circuit is an important stage in the world show-jumping calendar.

The event in La Baule is one of the 8 qualifying rounds!

The main covered grandstand has a seating capacity of almost 2,500.

Over 30,000 spectators attend the various races each year.

When should you come and enjoy La Baule's major events?

La Baule is a luxury destination that attracts visitors all year round.

The town's various events attract large numbers of visitors. Throughout the year, the town's calendar is packed.

To help you make your choice, here's a selection of what's on:

  • La Baule Film & Music Festival is held at the end of June and the beginning of July.

  • Le Jumping International de La Baule in May or June.

  • La Baule Jazz Festival between the end of July and the beginning of August.

  • The Audencia - La Baule Triathlon in September. The last edition attracted over 7,000 participants!

How do I get to La Baule?

La Baule is served by train (La Baule-Escoublac station and La Baule Les Pins station), by plane (Nantes airport and La Baule-Escoublac aerodrome) and by road.

Once you've reached the town of La Baule-Escoublac, it's very easy to get to the various events.

The Lila Presqu 'île bus network serves the whole town and is a good alternative to the car.

Where can I park in La Baule?

Note that parking in the town is not free. There are a few underground car parks.

During the busiest events and in summer, parking in the town quickly becomes a problem.

If you want to park easily, come early, or use public transport.
