Heading for the coast between Saint-Brieuc and Plouha

Just thirty kilometres apart, Saint-Brieuc and Plouha are linked by a fantastic stretch of coastline that's worth taking the time to discover.

Day 1 Saint-Brieuc to Saint-Quay-Portrieux

After the beaches of Plérin and the famous Plage des Rosaires (detailed in the report on the beaches of the Bay of Saint-Brieuc), we enter the commune of Pordic.

Here the GR 34 path runs alongside several fantastic cliffs and coves. Stop for a moment at the pointe de Pordic - the view of the sea from the cliffs is breathtaking!

As you follow the road towards the seaside resort of Binic, the landscape becomes more open and the view of the sea from the village is stunning.

Binic-Étables-sur-mer has 5 beaches where you can spend the afternoon!

Finally, after the joys of the beach, you arrive in Saint-Quay-Portrieux where you'll be sleeping this evening.

🍴The restaurant Le Catamaran is a great place to stop for dinner! This refined restaurant is located near the port and boasts a beautiful sea view.

Here, fresh produce from the sea is sublimated and worked with mastery!

Day 2 from Saint-Quay-Portrieux to Plouha

After breakfast, head for the deepwater port of St Quay. It can accommodate over 1,000 boats!

The quays arebustling with pleasure boaters and fishermen - it's always busy around here!

Saint-Quay-Portrieux also has some great beaches, and from the town centre you can quickly reach the superb Casino beach!

Then head back towards Plouha. For your lunch break, stop off at Palus-Plage.

From here, it's a 2-hour walk to the highest cliffs in Brittany!

The Plouha cliffs rise to 104 metres at the pointe de Plouha! If you're with the family, be sure to keep an eye on the children.

At the end of the day, you arrive in the small village of Plouha, and it's time to find your gîte.

🗓️ When can I come and discover the beaches of the Bay of Saint-Brieuc?

The coastal communities attract visitors mainly from April to September.

In fact, the most pleasant period is summer, with its beautiful sunny days. It's a busy time of year. All the restaurants and shops are open.

Festivals, concerts and fireworks make this a very pleasant time of year. The more adventurous can even go for a swim!

Late spring is also a great time to take a stroll along the seafront.

Also in spring, over a weekend in April, don't miss the Scallop Festival!

🚌How do you get to this stretch of coast north of Saint-Brieuc?

The nearest SNCF train station to the bay's beaches is Saint-Brieuc station. From Paris, several TGV trains run every day of the year.

Access by car from Saint-Brieuc is very easy, just follow the D786. Part of this road runs along the coast. It serves Binic, St Quay and Plouha in that order.
