Le Légué, Saint-Brieuc's harbour atmosphere

There's a change of atmosphere at the little Légué harbour, with Saint-Brieuc town centre looking a long way down the estuary!

The Légué district is located on the banks of the River Gouët. Le Légué is divided between the communes of Saint-Brieuc and Plérin.

Following a major renovation, the buildings around the port have been given a new lease of life and their vibrant colours brighten up this now sought-after area.

Take advantage of your visit to admire the pleasure boats, have a drink along the quays or simply enjoy the sea air and the call of the open sea...

Le Légué, an environment like no other

Formerly the fishing port of Saint-Brieuc, Le Légué is now a well-known part of the town. A number of houses have been renovated and the yachting industry is growing steadily.

Le Légué lends itself well to a pleasant stroll along the quays.

To discover the charms of Le Légué, take a loop that links the two communes of Plérin and Saint-Brieuc.

Starting from the Place de la Résistance, you can admire the colourful, restored former shipowners' houses.

You'll also find a number of shops and restaurants toliven up the area.

Next, head for the Pont de Pierre. From here, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the port and the Gouët viaduct.

The latter towers 70 metres above the estuary. The viaduct was inaugurated in 19683 and is now the expressway linking Brest to Rennes and crossing Saint-Brieuc.

On the Saint-Brieuc side, discover the Carré Rosengart. This former factory (building outboard motors) now houses an exhibition centre, workshops and a restaurant.

In summer, a small market is held every Thursday morning on the quayside. Yet another reason to come and discover this district with its very special atmosphere!
