A thalassotherapy cure in the Hammamet and Tunis region

The world's second-largest thalasso destination after France, Tunisia welcomes almost 150,000 spa visitors every year to its 450 centres dedicated to well-being (thalasso, spa and thermalism).

The Land of Jasmine is home to some sixty thalassotherapy centres, including several in Yasmine Hammamet, Hammamet, Cap Bon, Tunis and Tabarka.

Why a thalasso in the Hammamet region?

Thalassotherapy in the Hammamet, Tunis and Tabarka region means guaranteed sunshine just 2h30 from Paris, with the added bonus of a complete change of scenery. The thalassotherapy centres on the Tunisian coast, whether in Yasmine Hammamet, Hammamet, Tunis or Tabarka, have nothing to envy the centres in France, except for the prices, which are around 20% cheaper! And in Tunisia, there's the added bonus of an exotic touch: traditional hammam, Moorish café, couscous, mint tea, oriental pastries... not to mention the refined and sumptuous decor of the various areas (reception, herbal tea room, hammam, relaxation rooms...), worthy of the Thousand and One Nights!

The second most popular thalassotherapy destination after France, Tunisia boasts world-renowned expertise. These thalassotherapy centres are the worthy heirs to the Roman baths of Carthage, starting with the prestigious Thermes Marins de Carthage, the thalassotherapy centre of the luxurious The Residence Tunis by Cenizaro, located just a few minutes from the ruins of the famous ancient site. Tunisia is also home to a large number of balneotherapy centres, but these do not have the same curative powers as a thalasso, which uses seawater pumped directly from the sea.

Africa Jade Thalasso

Finally, 20km north of Nabeul, there is the Africa Jade Thalasso, in the farming village of Korba, in the heart of Cap Bon. Away from the country's main tourist routes, this peninsula is regularly visited by the big names in perfumery, who come here to stock up on bigarade flowers. Once distilled, the orange blossom yields the neroli extract used in top-of-the-range perfumes such as Guerlain.

A destination in itself, this haven in the heart of nature, undisturbed by any neighbours, boasts a thalassotherapy centre and African decor. It also boasts a large, beautiful 1,225 m² outdoor swimming pool, five restaurants and a large, beautiful sandy beach. It was a former Club Med, which means it enjoys a superb location, albeit isolated from urban centres such as Tunis and Hammamet. It extends over a vast eleven-hectare estate where vegetation is abundant. Nature lovers will be delighted by the lush gardens planted with cactus, bougainvillea, yucca, palm trees, eucalyptus and other exotic trees, populated by birds and adorned with charming water lily ponds.

The thalassotherapy centre houses a traditional hammam, a sauna decorated in original brickwork, whirlpool baths, ten individual massage rooms, a herbal tea room and a heated saltwater thermal circuit overlooking the sea, complete with whirlpool baths and swan necks. The programme includes hydrotherapy treatments, hydro-massage baths, jet showers, affusion showers, seaweed and mud wraps, floating mattresses, heated blankets, body scrubs, etc.
