What to eat in Serre Chevalier Vallée Briançon

Gastronomy plays a key role in the resort, with many chefs having set up shop in the area. Restaurants offering refined, even gourmet, cuisine are commonplace.

There's no shortage of good little restaurants in the resort, and even if the Hautes-Alpes region doesn't have many specialities, the chefs pick up a few local dishes from neighbouring regions and manage to concoct good dishes that will surprise and satisfy even the most discerning palates. The menu Blanc, prepared by a number of restaurateurs and listed in a small booklet by the tourist office, is a menu that has been introduced in conjunction with the Neige de Culture event, which runs throughout the winter.

lightbulb_outline Editor's tip
  • Unlike most ski resorts, where food is very expensive and you have to make arrangements before you leave. In Serre-Chevalier, the proximity of Briançon makes it easy to visit a large supermarket, so you don't have to spend a lot of money in small mini-markets. Remember to do your shopping before you arrive in the resort.
  • It's advisable to come by car if you want to get from one village to another without waiting 20 minutes in the cold.
  • Book a place for your child in the club or the nursery.
  • Ask for your Passe-partout card from the tourist office, which offers discounts in certain shops and is credited with points as soon as you spend money in the resort. These points will entitle you to gifts.
