What is canyoning?

Canyoning is a white-water sport that combines caving, hiking, climbing and abseiling down rivers, gorges and even waterfalls. Canyoning enthusiasts will descend rivers on foot, sometimes swimming, and abseil down waterfalls, make jumps and slide down natural slides. While beginners will love this playful side of the activity, more experienced canyoning enthusiasts will prefer the wild side of little-used passages, with more walking and taking time to contemplate the landscape.
