Lotte World, the best amusement park in Seoul

As if Seoul wasn't exciting enough! Just a stone's throw from the city centre, the Lotte World theme park, a giant beast, offers an action-packed day out for young and old alike. Lotte World is clearly no match for Korea's other theme park, Everland. Rather original, the theme park has merged with a shopping centre. The setting is set... you can indulge in shopping and thrills at the same time. The complex has several areas, both indoors and out, including a variety of thrill rides and attractions, a Korean folk museum, a hotel, an ice rink... all with daily shows and parades. It's an amusement park aficionado's dream. Rain, snow or shine, the park guarantees hours of fun without having to travel miles. Here are all the tips you need for a magical day at Lotte World.

Smaller than its competitor Everland, Lotte World still surprises visitors with 55 attractions and a dedicated children's area. Most of the rides are inside the main building, called Lotte World Adventure, while a more sensational area is outside, known as Magic Island.

The indoor section, known as Adventure, is spread over 4 floors. Once you've got your tickets, you can head straight up to the first floor, to the 4D attractions. Weather permitting, the Magic Island (mainly outside) opens up to visitors with its share of attractions dedicated to adults. Thrills guaranteed!

Atlantis

Located outside, this high-speed rollercoaster can reach speeds of up to 72 km/h, with twists, drops and turns. It's best to queue early as this is one of the park's most popular attractions.

Ride the current

An aquatic ride where you climb into a boat for a journey through the heart of a jungle to meet the dinosaurs before reaching the final vertiginous drop.

French Revolution

The French Revolution is a famous rollercoaster not to be underestimated. The ride is calm at first, but continues with massive rotations that can reach 540 degrees at full speed.

For the more cautious

The Adventures of Sinbad

The Adventures of Sinbad is a popular attraction. The boat goes through an underground passage where you can admire all kinds of landscapes, including lost temples that resemble the setting in Indiana Jones.

Hot-air balloon ride

Balloon Ride takes visitors to the top for a panoramic view of the theme park. The ride is picturesque and magnificent. It's a great time to admire the bright, colourful spots and take aerial photos.

Shows and parades

As tradition dictates, each park has its own attractions, shows and parades. Lotte World is no exception, offering parades with its mascots. The parades and shows change with the seasons. The shows are diverse and varied: from traditional storytelling to professional dancers and martial arts shows.

What's on at the moment (season 2023)? Lotty's Adventure Parade brings the park to life, showcasing its adorable mascots on floats, while Let's Dream Night Parade hosts a breathtakingly animated night-time fantasy show featuring dancing princesses and creatures that move to the beat of the music. Dancing princesses and creatures move to the beat of the music, and as soon as night falls, the castle lights up at Magic Castle Lights Up. The colourful LED illuminations delight all visitors.
