Visit Las Vegas casino hotels and tour the world

If Las Vegas is the city we know today, glittering and supercharged, it's thanks to its hotels. Each one more grandiose than the last, they have forged the city's reputation. Discover mega-hotels like Circus Circus, which has a 20,000 m2 theme park, Adventuredome, right at its heart. Or The Linq, a top-of-the-range hotel with several restaurants, which also offers its own attractions, starting with The High Roller, a 168-metre-high Ferris wheel, and even zip lines that will take you soaring above the buildings!

There's no doubt about it. Strolling along the famous Strip, which is over 6 kilometres long, while discovering the unrivalled hotels of Las Vegas, is an entertaining change of scenery that will fill your eyes!

A brief history of the Las Vegas Strip

The first mega-hotel complex, the Mirage, was built in 1989. It was the first of a new line of themed hotels. It was different from those of the 1950s. It radically changed the appearance of Las Vegas. It has to be said that before this wave of construction, Las Vegas had a bad reputation. It was Howard Hughes, the famous playboy, aviator, industrialist, boss of the famous TWA and film producer, who freed Vegas from the organised crime that was proliferating in its streets.

Which hotels are worth visiting?

Las Vegas has an impressive number of hotel-casinos, if only along the Strip. It's easy to get lost or not know where to start. That's why the editors can give you a few ideas of the great establishments not to be missed in Las Vegas.

The Bellagio

Who hasn't heard of the Bellagio? The hotel became famous the world over thanks to the film Ocean Eleven. This imposing building, owned by MGM Mirage, is a real eye-catcher and is even more impressive at night, with its monumental fountains dancing in radiant light. Its conception and design are inspired by the Italian Renaissance style of the town of Bellagio on Lake Como. Good taste and class are the order of the day at this hotel-casino.

Here, more than 10,000 m² of casinos, five outdoor pools, a 5,000 m² spa and a magnificent 1254 m² lush botanical garden await you. And, of course, an immense pool from which a series of impressive fountains emerge every day. The Bellagio also houses a shopping mall, Via Bellagio, and the O Theatre, where Cirque du Soleil's aquatic show 'O' features divers, acrobats and synchronised swimmers.

Good to know

You don't have to be a hotel guest to enter and visit, or to sit at a craps or roulette table (but you do have to be over 21).

The Luxor

No need to get out your Indiana Jones costume, here the treasure of the pyramids has already been discovered. On arriving at the Luxor, guests land directly in the mythical world of the Pharaohs and Cleopatra. The hotel gives its Strip rivals a run for their money: also owned by MGM Resorts International, the Luxor Las Vegas boasts a huge showroom featuring the Blue Man Group and magician Criss Angel.

It also has a casino spread over 11,000 m², as well as 4 large swimming pools and a spa with hammam, sauna and whirlpools. In addition, the BetMGM Sportsbook is a room dedicated to sports betting. And its "Titanic" exhibition is a real crowd puller. At night, one of the most powerful beams of light in the world shoots up from the top of the pyramid and pierces the sky. It can be seen for miles around.

⏰ When to visit the Strip and its hotels?

Las Vegas hotel-casinos are open non-stop, day and night. Are you jetlagged? The Strip is waiting for you. Whether you're admiring the scenery or tickling the slot machines, you're always welcome at Strip hotels. However, the atmosphere changes dramatically depending on the time of day you visit. In the morning it's quiet as the night owls are tired and heading off to bed, while in the evening the neon lights work their magic and the excitement of the gamblers electrifies the city. It's a real eye-opener!

🚗 How do you get to the Las Vegas Strip?

Nothing could be easier! The Strip is the best-known avenue in Las Vegas and is the main thoroughfare. Whether by taxi, car or even on foot, you can't miss it.

👉🏻 Good to know

Hotel-casinos comply with current US laws, including the ban on gambling by minors (under 21). It is still possible for younger children to visit the hotels, but they will have to stay away from the slot machines.

💳 Precautions concerning your reservations

When you check in, most hotels will require you to use the same credit card you used to make your reservation. Think about this when you book.
