The most beautiful beaches on Lake Annecy

Annecy's beaches are each more beautiful than the last. The lake has 11 beaches scattered along its eastern and western shores, at the foot of the mountains that surround the lake. All around the lake, the beaches are sandy or grassy, supervised, quiet or fashionable. Don't be afraid to swim: Lake Annecy has been voted the purest urbanised lake in Europe. The water is clear and temperatures flirt with 24°C at the height of summer. Most of the beaches offer activities such as beach volleyball or petanque courts, restaurants where you can sit and relax or picnic spots under the trees. Don't forget the essentials for a well-organised beach day and go and relax by the beaches of Haute-Savoie.

The beaches of Lake Annecy

The waters of Lake Annecy are around 24°C in summer. In fact, this stretch of water right in the heart of the mountains is teeming with beautiful beaches to cool off on between hikes. We've taken a look at the 4 most beautiful beaches in the capital of Haute-Savoie.

What to bring for a beach day

To make sure you have a trouble-free day on the beaches of Lake Annecy, we recommend you pack a few essentials in your rucksack:

  • Towel and swimming costume

We don't need to introduce them any more, but they're easy to forget.

We advise you to take a spare towel just in case!

  • Sun cream

The summer essential. Don't forget to apply it regularly, especially after swimming. We recommend an SPF of over 30 for good protection.

  • Baby powder

Whether you're a child or not, talcum powder will get rid of any residual sand before you get into the car or your holiday accommodation. Simply sprinkle some on your feet and hands before rubbing and the sand will disappear.

  • Water shoes

Although access to the beaches is relatively easy on Lake Annecy, jellyfish, flip-flops or other water shoes will help you avoid the inconvenience caused by rocks.

  • Mosquito repellent

The sunsets seen from Annecy's beaches are incredibly peaceful. It would be a shame to be bothered by mosquitoes during these magical moments.

  • An activity...

Whether you prefer beach volleyball, reading or knitting, don't forget to take something with you to keep you busy.
