Unusual: spend the night in a snow groomer in La Plagne!

Spend the night in a snow groomer - it's possible at La Plagne! The Over the Moon experience promises couples a unique night out. Above everything and everyone, under the stars and out of time, just a few hours will be enough to make it a memory engraved forever. A groomer ride, surprises from the staff and a cocooning atmosphere are just some of the activities on this (short) night.

Relaxing in front of a film or in the whirlpool bath, or both, the choice is yours! And of course, "what happens at 2,000 metres stays at 2,000 metres" - a rather evocative slogan chosen by La Plagne for this experience...

A night rated a thousand stars

As a couple, spending a night in the Over the Moon groomer is a real privilege. Every evening, two people have the chance to enjoy an exceptional setting, right in the middle of the mountains, overlooking the whole of La Plagne. The experience begins at around 8.30pm, when a groomer driver picks up the two lovebirds at the Plagne Bellecôte snow front to begin the ascent. The route takes them through the pistes to the top of the Arpette chairlift, at an altitude of almost 2,400 metres.

Once the snowcat has stopped, the groomer presents the travellers with their hotel room, which is atypical to say the least, and sets off again on the scooter towards the villages. Although it's in the middle of a snow-covered ski area and under the stars, the groomer's room is warm and more than comfortable. A queen-size bed with blankets and a home cinema TV, perfect for a relaxing romantic evening. The bathroom reveals another surprise... a whirlpool bath with a view of Mont Blanc!

The mini-bar and many other little extras, which couples can discover for themselves... complete this summit adventure. The snow and frost outside, visible from the groomer, contrast with this cosy little cocoon. And, since "what happens at 2,000 metres, stays at 2,000 metres", it's up to you to write this memory as you wish!

The next day, a coffee maker and breakfast basket are provided and included in the price of this unforgettable night in the treetops of La Plagne. A little early, the groomer picks up the lucky couple around 7.30am. This is your chance to enjoy a ski area that is still asleep and devoid of its daily skiers.

More unusual nights

La Plagne is the place for unusual experiences! There's a bobsleigh run, a toboggan run, a giant cable car and many other activities that can only be enjoyed in this resort. The accommodation is not to be outdone, and although the Over the Moon night is unrivalled, other unusual nights are also possible in La Plagne.

The Auberge Le Sauget, run by Patricia and Gérard, was the resort's first high-altitude restaurant in the early 1970s. The couple met on a chairlift... a story that was bound to lead to a project in the heart of the mountains. When night falls, a few people can now sleep in the rooms of the former mountain chalet. The atmosphere is one of conviviality and friendship; at the auberge, you live for the moment to the full!

Get out your down jackets for the night at the Igloo village in La Plagne! Although the temperatures may not be so hot, the warmth of sharing and conviviality is. Around a campfire and in a bed under an ice dome, the chilling experience is unforgettable.

Some were lucky enough to spend the night in accommodation from The Land Rover Shelters Experience. These small survival containers, used on polar expeditions, also provide sensational overnight accommodation for holidaymakers in search of adventure.
